This is what your very own printed blog book might look like! Most of the text has been blurred out to protect the innocent, but it gives a good idea of what the end result looks like. In the next several steps I'll explain step-by-step how to get from blog to book.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB0uYUDdTpSZ8Ws1lldR_2DalqZd5caVLJqZrndioajo8-4Tomt5WwADAV7DXyWyeShlp6uXb9-5-thwZiHzvRC_GB8IE7ia0qVP4zZL-0aMbzvFu_FAB6qWRCbvR3yh4hC4q1YUTfy1E/s1600-h/book1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220777044399486946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB0uYUDdTpSZ8Ws1lldR_2DalqZd5caVLJqZrndioajo8-4Tomt5WwADAV7DXyWyeShlp6uXb9-5-thwZiHzvRC_GB8IE7ia0qVP4zZL-0aMbzvFu_FAB6qWRCbvR3yh4hC4q1YUTfy1E/s320/book1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZaivxpQ1MGq7-OI-D3tjtVRPoNCFFs16HdWoFAsBOv6vQTUOkLWBSO1gMWGyb-JOXg91xL-8ZvpNi3NqZTPzCgCCQgrtRprv2PK1aS7UDoa8A-bNyJLDKWiqXpbh6Omxnozqia_VhWQ/s1600-h/book3.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220773912718051906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZaivxpQ1MGq7-OI-D3tjtVRPoNCFFs16HdWoFAsBOv6vQTUOkLWBSO1gMWGyb-JOXg91xL-8ZvpNi3NqZTPzCgCCQgrtRprv2PK1aS7UDoa8A-bNyJLDKWiqXpbh6Omxnozqia_VhWQ/s320/book3.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0fS-MGbQ5RSc8mR-n4xtaBP0RmNeX-F5n6c-hA-yvXDwfBPjaN1xXU120_ZxpgTS8LnxY_QOEKOt-Akiw2RZccgEj0SF9dSt4yHCkmlwOsDxdOSMCyD69cmM8y63Vf2RDuU4OfiIGZog/s1600-h/book4.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220776061117864322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0fS-MGbQ5RSc8mR-n4xtaBP0RmNeX-F5n6c-hA-yvXDwfBPjaN1xXU120_ZxpgTS8LnxY_QOEKOt-Akiw2RZccgEj0SF9dSt4yHCkmlwOsDxdOSMCyD69cmM8y63Vf2RDuU4OfiIGZog/s320/book4.JPG" border="0" /></a>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-52001086328258506272008-07-09T13:20:00.002-06:002008-07-09T20:26:15.713-06:00Step 1: Using Blogs2Books<ol><br /><li>Begin by double clicking on the Blogs2Books icon on your desktop. At any time you can click on a blue "?" next to an item for an explanation of that item.</li><br /><br /><li>On the second screen, enter your blog address (must be a Blogger account), username and password. Click "Test". If successful, click "Next". If the test fails, double check your entries and try again.</li><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicGzChm4YPg1JPfmvnY1OqqbVvs0TVaL3InmVPd6j5cq84H2p228PoZ9ISVJWSkLUqcq4LbcBJ4crryP53VHNsDihygovtu7n44Ouzk6RDHMZhG5DLJQF_eKUBzRrjA1iBSCYjEJG6Myk/s1600-h/b2bUI-1c.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217143374248782946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicGzChm4YPg1JPfmvnY1OqqbVvs0TVaL3InmVPd6j5cq84H2p228PoZ9ISVJWSkLUqcq4LbcBJ4crryP53VHNsDihygovtu7n44Ouzk6RDHMZhG5DLJQF_eKUBzRrjA1iBSCYjEJG6Myk/s320/b2bUI-1c.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><li>On the third screen, choose the dates you want to download. All blog entries and pictures between these dates are downloaded. To make the program run faster (especially in the editing phase), I recommend downloading only 3-4 months or about 20-30 short posts at a time. Otherwise the editor (see step 6) may be painfully slow.<br /><br />If you are running on Windows Vista, you should uncheck the "Capture screen shots" box, since this will cause the program to freeze on a Vista computer. You will still be able to see and print pictures of your videos while you are connected online. However, you will not have a saved picture of the video.</li><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjea3LxtVaTJYs12ehABWqmeV-xosyHODJq5I9s8_KrcbHF93Rk9C4mdvYMssTB7bXTgwyC52k4hMlyco9huwb8QJ1-kBHuD72Xl73m-qs-WFw-es3LSSu9TdHng0897JNJvoZKllblE9c/s1600-h/b2bUI-2c.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217143378781047074" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjea3LxtVaTJYs12ehABWqmeV-xosyHODJq5I9s8_KrcbHF93Rk9C4mdvYMssTB7bXTgwyC52k4hMlyco9huwb8QJ1-kBHuD72Xl73m-qs-WFw-es3LSSu9TdHng0897JNJvoZKllblE9c/s320/b2bUI-2c.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><li>On the fourth screen, choose the location for your download and the name for the html file that Blogs2Books will create. All the pictures and text will be downloaded to this location so it is often best to choose a folder that is just for your blog downloads.</li><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8zRSKH3eSdQ76pY24F8gwUXOfa4vBskjcQ5atl1Ym09284wQkrlnh8vZ6lb7dWF2dTWRxezqLApXLw2lqqF-UOr2FjevXJaS7YmZwp7YJYtSPwN5DLU6OYEl9idJxv070feEGIkQAykM/s1600-h/b2bUI-3c.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217142362338762626" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8zRSKH3eSdQ76pY24F8gwUXOfa4vBskjcQ5atl1Ym09284wQkrlnh8vZ6lb7dWF2dTWRxezqLApXLw2lqqF-UOr2FjevXJaS7YmZwp7YJYtSPwN5DLU6OYEl9idJxv070feEGIkQAykM/s320/b2bUI-3c.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><li>Click "Finish". The program will download the following from your blog to your computer:</li><br /><ul><br /><li>Entries (or posts)</li><br /><li>Comments</li><br /><li>Pictures</li><br /><li>A Snapshot of each video (if that option was selected)</li></ul><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvnwyjSY36eGQsDF584v23sRhkA_MX4PTcFX6gtQGRnw5RX6r__wnupTZeeXX5_vFwATP_QHg28p4T_rxpSbCoTJTPGmYnLHoo5RxV3G7zKYxhnjIKWMKo3rm2Co9x28D1snnk7AIyws/s1600-h/b2bUI-d1.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217142366611312082" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvnwyjSY36eGQsDF584v23sRhkA_MX4PTcFX6gtQGRnw5RX6r__wnupTZeeXX5_vFwATP_QHg28p4T_rxpSbCoTJTPGmYnLHoo5RxV3G7zKYxhnjIKWMKo3rm2Co9x28D1snnk7AIyws/s320/b2bUI-d1.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><li>When the download finishes, the editor will open. The editor allows you to change the look of your newly created blog file. The editor works by applying styles to your file. You can change fonts, sizes, colors and alignments for several key pieces such as the title, date, author and blog entry. The editor does not allow you to fix typos, add pictures or other detailed work. To do that you will need to hand edit the file after completing the Blogs2Books program (see the topic on using Nvu). Once you have a style set up the way you like it, you can save that style for future use by clicking "Save Style". When you have completed editing your file, click "Save As" or "Close" to save your file and end Blogs2Books.</li></ol><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO5CLS6Mk1DmLXtJbIfURUZj6Torg9KIhUeDbro-fKpzaMV_ZJn6hfMzH9o50enV_ehvKfG3jzMQRqmaFnGmii4gkZaciURI5k8FEf7BnO9TGnbof_1tydU7awehfnK_gbAJMCMQizIzU/s1600-h/b2bUI-e1.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217143860656808290" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO5CLS6Mk1DmLXtJbIfURUZj6Torg9KIhUeDbro-fKpzaMV_ZJn6hfMzH9o50enV_ehvKfG3jzMQRqmaFnGmii4gkZaciURI5k8FEf7BnO9TGnbof_1tydU7awehfnK_gbAJMCMQizIzU/s400/b2bUI-e1.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglwqCH9KNIMffhdPEe__I6qMvhziTLyBLp8ZL8LXQxK7CqVhpB_Zn9lh0varCQu5qb2EbXKSu1viZU-ym-o0Ad6-U-_wVC0JwIvRSMMe2TdxNhoOisZWMOe2S6GsiA-q9H_-kbmvh0yc0/s1600-h/b2bUI-e2c.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217143872222090962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglwqCH9KNIMffhdPEe__I6qMvhziTLyBLp8ZL8LXQxK7CqVhpB_Zn9lh0varCQu5qb2EbXKSu1viZU-ym-o0Ad6-U-_wVC0JwIvRSMMe2TdxNhoOisZWMOe2S6GsiA-q9H_-kbmvh0yc0/s400/b2bUI-e2c.png" border="0" /></a>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-37466399448556941802008-07-09T13:15:00.000-06:002008-07-09T20:10:46.252-06:00Step 2: Editing the File Using Nvu<div>When Blogs2Books is finished you will have an html file that is ready to be converted into a pdf file for printing. However, you may want to tweak the file a bit first. If you are fairly handy with html you may be comfortable editing the file in html directly. For most people, an html editor is much easier. I recommend using <a href="http://nvudev.com/index.php">Nvu</a> because you can download it for free and it is pretty easy to use.<br /><br />Some things you may want to edit in your html file:<br /><br /><ul><br /><li>typos</li><br /><li>adding/removing entries</li><br /><li>adding/removing pictures</li><br /><li>adding/removing comments</li><br /><li>changing colors or fonts on specific words or sections</li><br /><li>adjusting how pictures and paragraphs line up<br /><br /><div style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 0px 25px">For most users, you can adjust picture placement just by hitting the "Enter" key to add extra space. For html users, you can use the html code <div style="clear:both"></div> at any point to force all other pictures and words to clear out to the line below.</div></li></ul></div>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-57076632625076931342008-07-09T13:10:00.002-06:002008-07-09T20:29:10.638-06:00Step 3: Setup Internet ExplorerIn order to create a pdf file using Primo Pdf (covered in the next step), you will need to print your html file from another program. Unfortunately, Nvu does not print correctly to Primo Pdf. For this step I recommend using Internet Explorer. You can also use Firefox if you prefer. The explanation given here is for Internet Explorer (IE). <ol><li>Open IE.</li><br /><br /><li>From the menu bar choose File > Open.</li><br /><br /><li>Click "Browse" and locate the html file you want to print. Click "Ok" to open the file.</li><br /><br /><li>From the menu bar choose File > Page Setup.</li><br /><br /><li>The paper size should be "Letter" and the source "Paper Feed Switch". The orientation should be "Portrait".</li><br /><br /><li>Delete what is in the "Header" and "Footer" boxes. If you want to put a page number on your page you can type "&b&p" into either box. To center the page number use "&b&b&p".</li><br /><br /><li>Change the margins to your preference. I found 0.8 on the sides and 0.75 on the top and bottom worked well. (Note: If you downloaded Blogs2Books prior to July 9, 2008 you will probably also need to change the width <em>inside</em> your html file. Open the html file and near the top of the file replace the "675px" with "650px".)</li><br /><br /><li>Click "Ok."<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0geJmSV4jXFCJ9SZB5cAmRqq84Ks_ObvOyNZvxciaZB6ULHM-hWTy-L3nvku5LZEWv9FojaziwTIuE462xDm8BMEntFPtYsFDYzi6AMLFwYw9NqcAPYbRxz6Qs8v1f2oa5UVsr-T1Ol8/s1600-h/IEsetup.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217146247772840034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0geJmSV4jXFCJ9SZB5cAmRqq84Ks_ObvOyNZvxciaZB6ULHM-hWTy-L3nvku5LZEWv9FojaziwTIuE462xDm8BMEntFPtYsFDYzi6AMLFwYw9NqcAPYbRxz6Qs8v1f2oa5UVsr-T1Ol8/s320/IEsetup.png" border="0" /></a><br /></li></ol>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-72944937572425485162008-07-09T13:00:00.001-06:002008-07-09T20:31:35.560-06:00Step 4: Insert Page BreaksAt this point your html file should look just the way you want it and you should have set up Internet Explorer (IE) for printing. Next you need to preview your file and insert printing page breaks wherever needed. This will require you to delve into the raw html file, but hopefully this will not be too complicated.<br /><br /><ol><br /><li>With your html file open in IE, go to File > Print Preview. This is how your file will look when printed. Hopefully no words or pictures are being cut off on the sides. If they are, you will need to adjust your margins or move your pictures.</li><br /><br /><li>Look at your file and determine the first place you think a page break should occur. This is usually where a picture is being cut in half across two pages or where a title is printed at the bottom of one page while the rest of the entry is on the next page.</li><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihrpcKWEUAyrcWZJJ7GzeD0DEhgr9D8t9_ynIG5D00ulUjn8SBrHTWxuZdGPiZvf42PC_A9dZizJ5jbQBUIhfJEsz_TrhpQT2h9-XC6geg-GObIjbPhfEpen0ETzBooQqFJ7y3arKlmt4/s1600-h/pagebreak1.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220856402306053234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihrpcKWEUAyrcWZJJ7GzeD0DEhgr9D8t9_ynIG5D00ulUjn8SBrHTWxuZdGPiZvf42PC_A9dZizJ5jbQBUIhfJEsz_TrhpQT2h9-XC6geg-GObIjbPhfEpen0ETzBooQqFJ7y3arKlmt4/s320/pagebreak1.png" border="0" /></a> In this example, two pictures are being cut off at the bottom of the page. I'd like to push the entire entry onto the next page.<br /><br /><br /><li>In Nvu, locate the spot where you want to insert the page break and place your cursor at that spot.</li><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj96VPa2rqbJJOK_-zinIOoFbd9lojF-Vl_WPWOp_U0G1GbSASzlykZoFEyqbzrpTtgLqInVUCHQuC7s9Pt0u1wjRNthKRmrg8rg5GMaX7uPI4pGRHKHJl1ZuYFQXluKHqPCLSq3NQmRwI/s1600-h/pagebreak2.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220856242825745954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj96VPa2rqbJJOK_-zinIOoFbd9lojF-Vl_WPWOp_U0G1GbSASzlykZoFEyqbzrpTtgLqInVUCHQuC7s9Pt0u1wjRNthKRmrg8rg5GMaX7uPI4pGRHKHJl1ZuYFQXluKHqPCLSq3NQmRwI/s320/pagebreak2.png" border="0" /></a> On my page, I want the page break right before the title, so I put my cursor there.<br /><br /><br /><li>Now for the html part. Click on the "Source" tab at the bottom of the Nvu screen. This will switch to the html code and your cursor will be in the same spot it was in before. In other words, this is exactly the spot you want to insert the page break.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFjtNfDWbf38jorpclBOqe4hRzup4xZkGyy3k2BI7pQGvBZjqv4bnASBb4x2Pv1upzneBhwKruh1ixdhn8qlnQzd5uKDlO1fpLtDQf1wZOBb8Ab7sPOWDL9Js3GQgPCAiTJj9kDIqgkAo/s1600-h/pagebreak3.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220856249220769922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFjtNfDWbf38jorpclBOqe4hRzup4xZkGyy3k2BI7pQGvBZjqv4bnASBb4x2Pv1upzneBhwKruh1ixdhn8qlnQzd5uKDlO1fpLtDQf1wZOBb8Ab7sPOWDL9Js3GQgPCAiTJj9kDIqgkAo/s320/pagebreak3.png" border="0" /></a></li><br /><li>At this location paste this html code:<br /><p style="page-break-before: always"></p></li><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk05nXozV9kLLuWdxIvtn6AUUCpKKVctAwJfrZXaWYoa4a_fLrSDA2rtoBlAIPE568V-HoxPXgDFMA0zj6KWFD20Hxxgz8uONhfD57uSy1vsS8GcQBG7jK-NBRaN0r_R6Pe5mrIsNgbJc/s1600-h/pagebreak4.png"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220856252991769618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk05nXozV9kLLuWdxIvtn6AUUCpKKVctAwJfrZXaWYoa4a_fLrSDA2rtoBlAIPE568V-HoxPXgDFMA0zj6KWFD20Hxxgz8uONhfD57uSy1vsS8GcQBG7jK-NBRaN0r_R6Pe5mrIsNgbJc/s320/pagebreak4.png" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><li>Save the file (File > Save). When you return to the "Normal" tab, the page won't look any different. The only way to see if it worked is to check the print preview.<br /></li><li>Return to IE. One of the least expensive ways to go is to print it at a local copy shop (Kinkos, The UPS Store, Office Max) with a coil binding.<br /><br />I chose to print my book with a hardcover through the online print company <a href="http://www.lulu.com/">lulu.com</a>. On their website I chose a hardcover book. Then I selected the 8.25X10.75 size, the casewrap hardcover, and full color printing. After that all you do is upload your pdf and upload a separate jpg for your cover picture. The cost is around $20 or $30 for 100+ pages, which is one of the best prices I've seen out there.<br /><br />I hope you enjoy your book!!<br /><p></P><br /><p></P>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-47572271971839920052007-11-13T10:14:00.000-07:002007-11-13T10:23:32.563-07:00Printing Tip: When to PrintWhen is the best time to print your blog? I'm gathering all the videos I've posted on my blog so that I can burn them all on to one DVD to put in the back of my book when I get it printed at the end of the year. (When I first started my blog I used soapbox so now I have to go back and get those.) I upload my videos using Googles video features. Google keeps a library of all my videos. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure I can get them easily from my library (instead of fishing through all my past files on my computer).<br /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><em>Contributed by: Debbie</em></span>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-66765666242285735202007-11-01T14:00:00.003-06:002008-11-03T21:38:08.596-07:00<h2><a href="http://www.obryantfamilytree.com/blogs2books/Blogs2Books_Setup.zip">Download Blogs2Books</a></h2><br /><h5>System Requirements:</h5><ul><li>Windows XP or Vista operating system<br /></li><li>.NET Framework version 2.0 or higher</li><li>Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher</li></ul><br /><h5>How to Install:</h5><ol><li>Save the zip file to your computer by clicking on the link above.</li><li>Unzip the file by right-clicking on it and selecting "Extract All".</li><li>Open the extracted folder.</li><li>Run "setup.exe". <em>If you already have Blogs2Books on your computer, you can still install the new version and it will automatically replace the old one.</em></li><li>For additional help read "Setup Help.txt".</li></ol><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">Warning: This program has not been tested on all operating systems or system configurations. You put a lot of hard work into your blog! You don't want to lose it. With Blogs2Books you can have peace of mind that your blog is preserved on your own computer and in print form.<br /><br />The Blogs2Books program runs from your computer. You provide your blog address, username and password which are transmitted in encrypted form to Blogger to retrieve your blog. This program works <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">only</span> with Google Blogger. Blogs2Books downloads your blog - all text and pictures and screen shots of your videos! - to your computer. You can keep this as a digital copy of your blog. You can also use an html editor (similar to the editor you use when making a blog post) to finish preparing your blog for printing. You can then take your file to The UPS Store, Kinkos, OfficeMax or a similar store to have it printed just the way you want it.<br /><br />Blogs2Books is also this blog. It is a community for sharing:<br /><ul><li>Blog Writing Tips</li><li>Blog Printing Tips</li><li>Your Blog Printing Story</li></ul>We'd love to hear from you! <a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/11/contribute-your-story-or-tip.html">To find out how to contribute, click here</a>.<br /><br /><h4>My Story</h4><br />I'm a stay-at-home mom with a Masters degree in Computer Science. Since leaving the working world I spend most of my time trying to "program" my kids, but I still enjoy dabbling in code that actually behaves!<br /><br />One of my great passions as a mother is blogging about my family. I decided to print copies of my blog for each of my kids and went hunting for blog printing software. I discovered a lot of great printing services, but nothing that helped me print my blog myself or that printed my blog just like it looked on the web. Hence, Blogs2Books was born. I shared it with friends and family who got so excited about it I decided to share it with the Blogger community for free. I hope this program helps you! Please, send feedback to blogs2books@gmail.com.<br /><br /><a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/10/download-blogs2books.html">Download Blogs2Books.</a>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-13472201728189075992007-11-01T11:00:00.000-06:002007-10-13T10:06:58.277-06:00How To Use Blogs2Books<ol><li>Download and install the software.</li><li>Run Blogs2Books by clicking on the new icon on your desktop.</li><li>Follow the instructions in the program. A "?" appears in several places throughout the program. Clicking on the "?" will provide additional details about that item.</li><li>The last step of the program allows you to make global changes to your downloaded blog file. This <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">does not</span> effect your online blog in anyway. Changes you make on this page are applied to the <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">entire</span> blog file. You can't make specific changes (such as fixing typos) from this page.</li><li>Save your blog file. Your blog file will be saved as an html file. Please note, your pictures are <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">not</span> embedded in the html file. In order for your html file to display your pictures it must be kept in the same folder as your pictures.<br /></li><li>After Blogs2Books finishes, you may want to make additional detailed changes to your blog file. The file is html so you should use an html editor for this. I recommend using Nvu because it is easy to use and free!<br />You can get it at <a onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" href="http://nvudev.com/index.php" target="_blank">http://nvudev.com/index.php</a>.<br /></li><li>To print your blog file, probably the best thing to do is to make it a pdf file. This will embed your pictures into the file and make it easy to take somewhere to print. I recommend PrimoPdf because it is free. You can get it at <a onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" href="http://www.primopdf.com/" target="_blank">http://www.primopdf.com/</a>. To use this program, you just open your html file in Internet Explorer (or FireFox). Then print it. When it asks you which printer you want to use, pick PrimoPdf and just use all the<br />defaults. It will spit out a nice little pdf file for you. This program is also nice because it will make it so that your pictures aren't cut in half on different pages.</li><li>Take your pdf file to your favorite copy shop. Print! Bind! You're done!<br /></li></ol>Blogs2Bookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09437644417370662690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4743730098422080603.post-62544927024349521742007-11-01T10:00:00.000-06:002007-10-13T10:36:23.864-06:00Frequently Asked Questions<ol><li><a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/11/blogs2books-story.html">What is Blogs2Books?</a></li><li><a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/10/download-blogs2books.html">How do I get Blogs2Books?</a></li><li><a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/11/how-to-use-blogs2books.html">How do I use Blogs2Books?</a></li><li><a href="http://blogs2books.blogspot.com/2007/11/how-to-use-blogs2books.html">Blogs2Books created an html file.
